Our History

Claremont was founded in 1925 and is a small school with a friendly, collegiate feel. We foster an environment that is respectful, compassionate and conducive to positive learning. We want our students to grow respectful of their privilege and become aware of how they can become active, impactful citizens.

Claremont Prep School is fast approaching its Centenary in 2025 and has a remarkable history. The Senior School has been around for 10 years now and has gone from strength to strength, celebrating the most successful A Level and BTEC results in its history in 2021.

Our schools’ extraordinary journeys culminated in a new and exciting partnership with International Schools Partnership (ISP), one of the largest educational groups in the world, and a third consecutive ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted in March 2019.

Having achieved the much-coveted Green Flag Award, BBC Reporter School status, as well as winning the Independent School of the Year Award for Performing Arts in 2021, we have much to be proud of and plenty to look forward to.

Bursaries and Scholarships

We have some exciting scholarship opportunities for pupils entering Year 7, Year 9 and Sixth Form. These are awarded to those who demonstrate outstanding potential in one or more of the following areas:  Sport, Academic subject areas, Creative and Performing Arts and Equestrian.

Bursaries can be given to a current Claremont pupil in recognition of financial need, regardless of ability. Bursaries are means-tests.
